A photograph of a unique moment
Your birth chart is the exact photograph of the sky at the moment and place of your birth: the position of every planet on the zodiac, to the minute. No one else was born under exactly the same sky — that is what makes every chart unique.
Unlike a magazine horoscope, which only looks at your Sun sign, the birth chart considers the whole sky: ten celestial bodies, twelve houses, and the geometry connecting them.
The Sun: who you are
Your Sun sign — the one people mean when they ask “what's your sign?” — describes the core of your identity: your fundamental energy, what you strive toward. It is the trunk of the tree.
But a trunk is not the whole tree: two people with the same Sun sign can have very different skies — and very different lives.
The Moon: what you feel
The Moon describes your inner world: your emotions, your deep needs, your instinctive reactions. It often explains why you don't “feel like” your Sun sign in private.
The Ascendant: what you show
The Ascendant (or rising sign) is the sign that was rising on the horizon at the instant you were born. It colours your social presence, first impressions, and the way you approach the new. This is why your precise birth time is so valuable.
The houses: the stages of your life
The twelve astrological houses divide the sky into areas of life: identity, resources, communication, home, creativity, daily life, partnership, transformation, horizons, vocation, friendship, inner life. A planet means something different depending on the house it occupies.
The aspects: the geometry of character
Aspects are the angles planets form with one another: conjunctions, trines, squares, oppositions… They describe the inner harmonies and tensions that make a personality complex — and rich.
How do you read your chart?
You can study for years — or entrust the reading to an interpreter. Kovaluna calculates your sky to the degree, then writes it for you in plain language: your Sun, Moon, Ascendant, houses and aspects, woven into a portrait that speaks about you. All you need is your date, place and, ideally, time of birth.
And yours — what story does it tell?
